This is a video I made today of the card tricks I've been learning since I got hold of a Derren Brown pro instructional video. I'm not very good, but I hope you like this...
I have been working cards for a rather long time & you have me very very impressed
Thank you! Maybe you can give me some tips? I've basically been learning from Derren Brown's "Devil's Picturebook" so far, plus a few other sources for sleights and flourishes.
I assume you will know, but if you don't know how any of the effects in the vid are done I'll gladly let you in on it
That was pretty neat, Nekokate. The only trick where I noticed something fishy happening was the last one. Otherwise, very well done.
Hehe, I know. I couldn't be arsed re-filming it though, since the disclaimer at the beginning said not to expect perfection. But even with the fishy goings on, I bet there's not many people who can drop a card on top of the deck and have it upside down in the middle in under a second, lol!

I'm totally getting into card magic!
I might set up my webcam & capture some card / coin stuff for you
Every card worker reads two books by Jean Huggard ('Royal road to card magic' being one of them), these are the 'bibles' of card workers...
They may seem basic by todays standards, however, learning 'handling techniques' & understanding them fully are essential.
From there people go onto the likes of Cardini & Ed Marlow or other greats, depending on the style you like.
Myself, I am a lazy magician, but love to use their deck of cards...
It's great when you find somebody with a brand new deck... but learning to use well worn decks, decks of differing sizes are also key.
Will write more shortly, have to get the wife to work.
That's very cool, I love that sort of stuff, so be intrigued to have a look at the video, but knowing me, i'll forget all about it by the time I get home *l*
some excellent tricks there - nice one. I had a pal who did stuff like this and he was paid to appear in certain nightclubs just to go round and impress people with the tricks.

We had a card trick guy at one of my company functions. It was quite entertaining stuff. That is some very nice coordination Kate, good luck with it, it must take some practice to get to that point.
