Two shows that I managed to grab over the holidays stood out as being super....
The 2 part Vicar of dibly was astounding... Shame it bought the end to the show
Never know tho'... as with a few shows that are no longer running, the odd Xmas special appears.
Then last nights 2 eps of Torchwood just blew me away...
Some great things shown about our Cpt Jack
The tie ins to DrWho were fantastic....
I hope that the show continues into many more seasons...
I liked the offerings from "Little Britain" but somehow felt cheated...
I think too much was trying to be said in each skit & detracted from the normal flow of the show...
They just seemed to be trying to be too clever.
Great concept, not enough 'Umphhh' for my tastes, but still some great parts...
Alas, not all the regulars got a spot abroard...
Well, thats my 2 cents. |

I wasn't too impressed by Vicar of Dibley myself - they've made her into a much cruder character than any Church minister would ever be, unless it's the standard behaviour of a CofE minister to talk about getting dildos from her uncle for Christmas? It always used to be that the character was believable in the role, but I really didn't see that in these last two shows.
I never watched Torchwood, but I did find some great bits in Little Britain - like the SOS that Lou puts on the beach... that was a cracker and I reckon I'll always remember it.
So, there we go - I didn't mean to entirely disagree with you, but hey! haha

Each to our own m8...
I did mention some of the "L B A" was good...
I loved the msg... what a kurfuffle eh....
I also chortled over the Anthony having a certain substance on his lapel...
As for Dawn French...
I can only sumize that as it was the last show they pushed the boat out a bit m8... |

RELIEF FOR TV FANS OF DIBLEY
By Nicola Methven
THE Vicar of Dibley is to return to TV screens in a one-off special, it was revealed yesterday. Fans feared they had seen the last of Dawn French's comic cleric Geraldine Granger when she tied the knot in the New Year's Day episode. But Dibley creator Richard Curtis will bring back the character - a TV favourite for 12 years - in a Comic Relief special in March.
He told Radio Five Live: "I can reveal there's going to be one more small episode of Vicar of Dibley we're doing on Comic Relief this year. If people are worried, there's something coming on March 16." More than 12million people tuned in to the final episode. The Christmas Day episode on BBC1 pulled in 11.4million viewers and was the top-rated festive show. |

Was just going to ask this one about the Vicar. I heard about this "Red Nose Day" sketch and was wondering if it was coming on. Now if I could just get my hands on it.... |

Got'em Face but thanks anyways. I should have checked with you first. I thought the Vicar Red Nose Day was bad. For the last time we see her, I thought they could have done a bit better but that's just me I guess. |

I shutter at the thought. Kirstie Ally is supposed to do the Geraldine character. Here's a link for some info..

Kirstie Alley is probably the one american tv star who could give it some credence. I quite enjoyed some of that sitcom she did last year - that had some real quality writing and self-effacement. |

But she's not fat anymore. Wouldn't you think the vicar should be round like Dawn French? She pulls some jokes in the show about her weight. I always get nervous when the U.S. copies a good show from the UK. They usually screw it up real bad. |

I can't quit see the show work without good old Dawn French - she was fantastic in the role! |

Did you know that Torchwood is an anagram of Doctor Who? There ye go. |
